Are you a film industry professional, eager to inspire the next generation of cinematic talent? Here's your opportunity to make an impact!
We are hosting the District School Board of Niagara’s top filmmakers at the Performing Arts Centre the week of May 13th - 16th for a Film Festival which includes industry workshops and a 72 Hour Film Challenge designed to educate and enrich the lives of high school students who are interested in filmmaking as a potential career. We are looking for talented friends and colleagues from the film industry to help us provide high school students with a glimpse into the film/media/art industry.
WORKSHOP MENTOR
This workshop would be developed by you about something specific to your craft, we are looking for fun, innovative ideas for workshops or seminars that will engage audiences ranging from 10-30 students. (ie. You could host a hands-on make-up workshop for ten (10) or give an engaging talk to thirty (30) students). Be fun, be innovative. In addition to the workshop, we are also asking each mentor to join us in a mentorship roundtable in front of our student audience at the end of the day.
We are presenting this opportunity with an honorarium for your work and efforts (in addition to any hard costs or expenses that may be required to perform your workshop, please indicate any additional expenses in your submission).
What We're Looking For:

Film Professionals: Directors, Writers, Cinematographers, Sound Designers, Editors, Colorists, and experts in all aspects of film production, and dramatic arts.

Innovative Workshops: Bring your creative teaching ideas, and guide youth in immersive, hands-on workshops.

Inclusive and Engaging: We celebrate the unique perspectives and backgrounds of every individual, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work, and we expect all Mentors to do the same.
Required of you:

Develop a 1 hour workshop.

Create a 150-200 word description of your workshop.

Provide a 150-200 word bio about yourself and your career in the film industry.

Provide a picture of yourself. (Either a portrait or working on set).
Submission Guidelines:
NOTE: Workshops should be teachable in under an hour.
