The Short Film Bootcamp is a thrilling week-long immersion into the world of filmmaking for young, aspiring filmmakers and actors.

 

Guided by industry professionals, participants take their first steps toward their filmmaking careers by working on a short film in five action-packed days. With mentors by their side, participants will learn the art of storytelling, film production, and post-production, resulting in a cinematic masterpiece that's showcased at a glittering red carpet gala attended by family, friends, and the public. This program is the ultimate cinematic adventure.

2. REGISTER
When registration opens, we’ll send you a link for you to reserve your spot. During the registration process we'll ask where you'd like to focus more, in front of or behind the camera. 

3. GET READY FOR SUMMER

INFORMATION

What is the Short Film Bootcamp?

The Short Film Bootcamp is a week-long, immersive program where aspiring young filmmakers and actors work together to create a short film under the guidance of industry professionals.

Who can participate?

The program is open to young filmmakers and actors (UNDER 35) of all experience levels. Whether you're a total beginner or have some experience, there's a role for you.

What age group is the Bootcamp for?

The program is designed for youth, typically ages 14-35, but we encourage anyone with a passion for filmmaking to apply.

Where does the Bootcamp take place?

The Bootcamp is held in NIAGARA REGION, CANADA, with workshops, filming, and editing sessions taking place at various locations throughout the week, depending on the film we will be making.

Do I need prior filmmaking experience?

No experience is necessary! Our mentors will guide participants through the entire process, from story development to post-production.

What will participants learn?

Participants will gain hands-on experience in screenwriting, directing, cinematography, acting for film, and editing, while working together to produce a short film.

Will I get to act in the film if I sign up?

If you're interested in acting, there will be opportunities to audition for roles. Those who prefer behind-the-scenes work can focus on directing, camera work, or editing.

What is the daily schedule like?

Each day includes a mix of workshops, hands-on film production, and collaborative exercises. Expect a mix of learning, filming, and post-production throughout the week.

Will the final film be shown anywhere?

Yes! The program concludes with a red carpet gala where participants can celebrate their work and see their film on the big screen.

REQUIREMENTS

What should participants bring?

Comfortable clothing, a notebook, water bottle, and any personal filmmaking gear (optional). We provide the necessary equipment for production.

Is there a cost to participate?

The cost to participate is $699 for the week-long adventure. This includes your tuition fee for the entire week of events plus two meals per day. Scholarships and Financial Aid are limited but available on a first-come first-serve basis. Please inquire early if you require financial assistance.

How do I sign up?

Registration details can be found on our website when we launch the official camp date.

Spots are limited, so early sign-ups are encouraged!

Do participants need to be available for the full week?

Yes, since the Bootcamp is a collaborative experience, full participation is expected to ensure a smooth production process.

Are meals provided?

We will provide all participants with breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the day. 

Who are the mentors?

The Bootcamp is led by experienced filmmakers, actors, and industry professionals who provide hands-on guidance throughout the program, and will be announced closer to camp.
